Hope Talks!

What the Glass Contains is a podcast performed by Austin Moss who is interested in introducing the world to writers in his region. He hails from Raleigh, NC, but he graciously asked me to participate in a podcast interview. So we hopped on Skype, chatted, laughed and had a grand time. He asked questions many don't, and the exchange feels like what one would have over a beer - loose but in depth - relaxed yet intriguing.

Thanks, Austin. And I really appreciate that he used The Doobie Brothers as the background band (he uses an author's preferred music in putting the show together - how cool!) Here's the interview. Enjoy!

Episode 12 - C. Hope Clark

So how does one answer the question- what are you working on now? (After first book, but not a series.)
It seems after the first book, it's expected there's another project.

Yes, there should always be another project. As a matter of fact, most writers have many projects and hate having to choose. So if someone asks, just pull one out of your inventory!

Thanks- and it's important not to reveal too much!

I love your interview, Hope. Mr. Moss is right. You're voice is very natural and conversational. Great advice.

Take care,

Thanks so much, Diva! BTW, just heard from SC ETV. They are interviewing me for two-hours to be part of their literary series. Whoop whoop! Maybe they heard this podcast!

You have a listener in England! I listened to your podcast last night here in Oxford.
It was weird to hear your voice. We've known each other online for. . .how long? Yet I didn't know what you sounded like!
One disadvantage of living in Europe is not being able to go to all those great conventions and seminars. If I lived in the U.S. I'm sure we'd have sat together on a panel by now.

Yeah, I have no idea what you sound like either, Sean. I almost envision something western - don't know why. Conferences are good for that, though . . . seeing people we only know online.

Probably all those Civil War and Wild West books I've written! Actually I'm Canadian and have a very neutral accent. :-)

Ah, Canadian. Y'all can fit in anywhere. LOL Afraid my accent might stand out a little more, though it's nothing compared to others around me. I grew up in a military household, so my accent is tempered a little bit.
