INSPIRING STORIES OF ANIMALS WHO COMFORT AND HEAL CHILDREN

http://www.angelanimals.net/contestrules.html

NO ENTRY FEE
Deadline September 15, 2010. The Angel Animals Network 2010 True Story Contest is now accepting submissions of real-life stories that depict the healing bond between children and a wide spectrum of animals -- dogs, cats, horses, birds, rabbits, gerbils, ferrets, rabbits, any family pet or animal in nature. The story should show an animal helping children, parents, or families to deal with difficult situations and circumstances.

Each individual is limited to submit three separate entries. Entry form required. One grand prize of $250 will be awarded to the first-place winning contestant. A second place prize of $25 will be awarded to 5 contestants. There will be 5 or more entries chosen as Honorable Mentions. There are no citizen status or resident country restrictions for contestants. Story submissions must be no more than 2,000 words in English.

NOTE: These folks always do a good job. Very legitimate contest without an entry fee.

DOUBLE NOTE: That's my mini-dachshund Dixie. She's blind from glaucoma and this picture is from Edisto Beach, where we took her so she could trot around without bumping into anything. She actually started barking at the wind and waves! She's 14 years old this month.

Thanks for the info, Hope. That's what I love....no entry fee! Your dog is sweet. I'm so sorry she lost her eyesight but glad she has you to love her anyway and to help her. Sincerely, Susan

This sounds like a great contest. Edisto is full of animal lovers so I will post this link on my DiscoverEdisto Facebook page. I hope you get a lot of submissions.

Thanks, Edisto. Is that Edisto Beach? I use a friend's house there once or twice a year. Love the place. I grew up Lowcountry, you know.
