THE POWER OF WORDS CONFERENCE - Liberating Yourself and the World Through the Spoken, Written & Sung Word - Sept. 12 - 15, 2008
http://www.goddard.edu/powerofwords_info
The Power of Words calls out to all those who use writing, storytelling, performance, singing, songwriting, spoken word, integrated or expressive arts, collaborative arts, archival arts, or any other form of the written, spoken or sung word for individual, community and societal growth and change. We have a limited number of work-study positions, partial scholarships, and through the Roxanne-Florence Fund, partial scholarships for people of color. Generally, we cannot award more than half the registration fee, and recipients are also responsible for their room and board, travel, and any pre- or post-conference workshops. If you are interested in applying for a work-study position or scholarship, please write to TLAconference@goddard.edu. Location Plainfield, VT.
NOTE: This is a different style of conference, touching upon how we can use our words – written, spoken or sung – to support community, wake up, and foster empowerment, healing and transformation. Located and sponsored by the low residency Transformative Language Arts Concentration at Goddard College
DOUBLE NOTE: Got a Chicken Soup approval again - Empty Nesters Soul. Actually I might have two stories in there. The contracts have been confusing. I'd hate to be an editor putting together one of those anthologies. 2008 has been the year of anthologies for me, and I'm not a huge fan of them. Just when I see a theme and an idea strikes me like lightning, I submit. Otherwise, I delete. I've had more than the average number of lightning strikes this year.

Congrats on the CS acceptance, and thanks for the VT conference info. Since it's up my way, I'll check it out.
